Most Valuable Teacher of the Year presented by SAP

Makeba’s hometown team is the Carolina Hurricanes. She teaches 5th grade Math at Fairview Elementary School and has been a teacher for four years. Makeba decided to become a teacher because she truly believes in the power of young people. Makeba believes that the scholars she works with today will be the people who shape the future and she wants to support that journey. Makeba has a passion for helping her students succeed and making a positive impact on their lives.

As the winner of the Future Goals™ Most Valuable Teacher of the Year presented by SAP, Makeba’s school district will receive an additional $20,000 in Environmental Sustainability Resource donations from SAP! Combined with $10,000 in Environmental Sustainability Resource donations for winning Future Goals™ Most Valuable Teacher of the Month presented by SAP in January, Makeba’s school district will receive a total of $30,000 worth of donations from SAP!

The NHL, NHLPA and SAP also thank our other Future Goals™ Most Valuable Teacher of the Month presented by SAP winners and congratulate them on winning $10,000 in Environmental Sustainability Resource donations from SAP for each of their school districts.
